Send a message
RCS over Moments
Use RCS over Flow in Moments to send communication based on customer information such as interests and activities. Add a fallback option to make sure that your messages are delivered.
RCS over Conversations
Use RCS over the Infobip cloud contact center solution (CCaaS) Conversations. Provide customers with real-time support through one-on-one conversations with an agent.
In addition, you can offer customers the option to move their chat from a chatbot to a live agent. Live agents can manage requests that a chatbot may not be able to manage.
RCS over Answers
Use RCS over the Infobip chatbot building platform, Answers, to build artificial intelligence and keyword-based custom chatbots with automated responses. Use these chatbots as the first point of contact for customers to get answers to a predefined set of queries at any time.
RCS over Broadcast
Use RCS over Broadcast to create and send pre-defined one-time communication to your customers. Add a fallback option to make sure that your broadcast is delivered.
RCS template messages (India only)
When you send messages to your customers in India, you must use RCS Template Messages. This feature is designed to prevent abuse of anti-spam policies where users are inundated with promotional RCS messages but enables you to continue to use RCS for sending messages to your customers.
Businesses in India can't use RCS directly via Google. When using RCS, you must direct traffic through a single gateway carrier (Vodafone India).
The following restrictions are also in place for the use of RCS in India:
- Promotional traffic is limited to 4 per month
- A2P traffic must use a registered template rather than a free-form message
Registered templates
Use only registered templates for sending RCS messages. To use a registered template, you need to obtain the VIL template identifier.
Contact your account management team to register new templates and obtain the template identifier (ID). You will need to manually enter this ID, along with any parameter fields.
Send RCS message templates over API
To send RCS over API, there are two API endpoints for template messages:
- Send RCS template message - Used for sending single RCS template messages (only for Vodafone Idea Limited, India)
- Send bulk RCS template message - Used for sending bulk RCS template messages (only for Vodafone Idea Limited, India)
Both endpoints include a content
section where you specify the VIL template name and parameters. The content
section in the Send bulk RCS template message endpoint is the same as for single messages but the message is passed as an array.
